Boys & Snow

Grandpa Silvester & Harrison

Sledding

We love the snow in our house! The boys love going out to play in it.

Christmas 2009

We had a great Christmas this year and as the kids get older they are more fun. I was really excited this year and I couldn't sleep so I woke the kids up at 6:00am. When I walked into Colby's room to wake him up he was already awake playing with his flashlight. The boys were pretty excited when they saw all the presents under the tree. Harrison ran right over to his new power wheels 4-wheeler and he didn't get off it for the rest of the day. He wouldn't even open any of his other gifts. Colby got a new bike and both boys were definitely spoiled. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and we look forward to the new year.

Lights

Cody and I decided to take the kids downtown today. We went to dinner at the Gateway mall then rode Trax to Temple Square. Cody had never been there for Christmas so it was really cool to share it with him and the kids. I remember going to Temple Squre every year and I loved it. The kids loved all the lights and Colby loved riding on the Trax. It really got me in the Christmas spirit. I'm so excited to share the holidays with my family.

Settled for the Holidays

Happy Boys

The New Pendant Lights(a little messy in the kitchen)

Harrison loves to go downstairs to play

We been in our house now for almost a month and we love it. The kids are so happy to have their own space again. I've unpacked every box but not much on the walls yet. We have decorated for Christmas and we are really excited to spend our first Christmas at our new house. Cody has been busy with projects since we moved in. He has hung some pendant lights above the island, installed under cabinet lighting and has plans for a lot more. It's been fun being able to do things to our own house. Colby has already made some friends and most of the kids in our neighborhood are in his preschool class. It's so nice to be settled down so the kids can make friends to grow up with.

What have we been up to?

It's been a while since the last blog but we've been really busy. The most exciting thing is we are finally in our house. We moved in last Tuesday and we couldn't be happier. I had forgotten what is was like to have my own bedroom. No more kids in the same room. WooHoo! It's been less than a week and already Cody has been doing projects and we had a little fire in the new gas stove. The builders put all of the owners manuals in the broiler tray and they caught on fire when we turned on the oven. Luckily nothing was ruined. We L-O-V-E the house and we feel so blessed.
We also had a really fun Halloween. The kids were so cute. Harrison was getting the hang of it because after a few doors he started knocking then holding his hand up for the candy. Colby had alot of fun and felt really special because not only did Cody and I take him but aunt Tammy, uncle Vince, and Jacey also went. It was a great day. Jacey and Colby also carved pumpkins. I'll post new pictures of the house soon.

The wait is almost over.

It has been almost 6 months since we started the home building process. Boy has it been fun. There is a good chance that we won't ever build again. Way too much stress. The time has come. If all goes well we will be moving in on Friday before Halloween. Not soon enough if you ask me. The house is finally completed and we have a final walk through on Wednesday. Colby has been asking to move in for the last week after the carpet was installed. We keep telling him we have to wait till we get the keys.

Cornbelly's

My favorite season is upon us. The colors, the sweaters, and Halloween. We love being outside. We went to the Cornbelly's this week at Thanksgiving Point and had lots of fun. The weather was perfect and it wasn't very crowded at all. We also went to the Hill Aerospace Museum and the boys loved it. Colby loved all the planes and Harrison seemed to love them too. The boys are really growing and they are getting more fun to take places.

Harrison is growing such an attitude lately that he is making us crazy. He is no longer our little baby. He gets into everything and thinks it's funny when we tell him NO. Colby really likes Harrison getting bigger so they can play together but he doesn't like him getting into his stuff. The kids are really tired of sharing a room so we are counting down the days until our house is finished. I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing about the house but we are really excited to have our own rooms again. All 4 of us have been sharing 1 room for the past 5 1/2 months. Just so everyone understands why we are so anxious. We should be in the house for the Trick-or-Treaters.

This week

Colby's first day of preschool

The house

Well, it sure has been hard to blog lately with all the craziness. We are still waiting on the house to be finished. The boys have been sick. Harrison has had a sinus infection and a sore throat so he hasn't been eating or sleeping lately. It's been fun. Colby started school last week which was really exciting. I was so nervous about him starting. I guess it was harder on me than it was on him. Each time I took him I got tears in my eyes when I dropped him off. He loves it though and when I pick him up he is excited to tell me about what he learned. Hopefully soon our lives will be back to normal.

House update

We've been waiting for weeks for some progress on the house and finally they started to frame. We are still on schedule. Hopefully we will be in our house by the middle of October. Colby is finally starting to get excited about his new room. I don't think he realized that the peice of concrete was actually a house. We are anxiously waiting!!!

Colby turned 4years old on Saturday. I can't believe how fast it's flown by. Colby brings us so much happiness and makes us laugh everyday. We love him so much.
I asked him what he wanted to do on his birthday and he told me he wanted to go bowling. So in the morning we went bowling then in the afternoon we had a party with family. We had a great time. He got lots of fun presents including a new Power Wheels 4-Wheeler. Thank you to everyone that came.

Can you picture it?

I know it's hard to imagine but this is where our house will be built. It's taken a long time to finish all the paperwork and get the necessary permits but finally they will be starting this week. It takes about 13weeks to finish so we won't be homeless for too much longer. WooHoo!!

Colby and Mommy Camping

Miles, Colby, and Haven watching the ducks at Wheeler Farm

Harrison waiting for the Pony Express Parade

It's been a long time since the last post but we have been busy and homeless. We are living with my aunt Tammy and family right now. We had to get out of our rental house because it was in forclosure and we had no idea. We are super excited to be building a house in Eagle Mountain and it won't be done until October. The kids are adjusting well to being homeless but Colby really misses having his own room and all of his toys. We have been up to Idaho a lot and we went camping up at the the family RV Park. Colby has been riding the 4-wheeler as much as possible. We look forward to a normal life again.

Happy Birthday Brian

I wanted to wish my brother a Happy Birthday! I really do miss him and I would never forget his Birthday. It's been 4 years since he passed away and the hurt hasn't gone away. I think of him everyday. I know he is around us but I miss his laugh, his hugs, and his fun sense of humor.

The kids and I went to Brian's grave today and put some flowers on it. I know Colby doesn't fully understand where Brian is but he tells me that he misses him. I think it's really sweet. I look forward to telling my boys and his boy about all the memories I have of him. He was an amazing man, so much fun, and loved by everyone. I know this separation is temporary and I look forward to seeing him again someday.
